Getting Started
FlyOnTime is a real-time airport delay and TSA wait time visualization service. It shows an interactive map of airport conditions across 4,000+ airports worldwide, and includes a smart trip planner that tells you exactly when to leave for the airport.
The map auto-centers on your location. Airport dots are color-coded: Green = normal, Yellow = moderate delays (15-30 min), Orange = significant delays (30-60 min), Red = severe (60+ min or ground stop). Click any dot for details. Pan and zoom to explore.
Green means normal operations with under 15 minutes TSA wait. Yellow means moderate delays (15-30 min TSA or departure delays). Orange means significant delays (30-60 min TSA or ground delays). Red means severe conditions — 60+ minute TSA waits, ground stops, or airport closures.
FAA delay data refreshes every 2 minutes. TSA wait times refresh every 5 minutes. Flight data is cached for 5 minutes. The map auto-refreshes every 60 seconds.
Trip Planner
Enter your flight number and we look up your departure airport, time, terminal, and gate. Then we calculate: drive time to the airport (using Google Maps with real-time traffic) + parking/drop-off time + TSA security wait + gate arrival buffer + any special inspections (USDA, CBP). We tell you exactly when to leave.
Drive & Park (includes 15-min parking buffer), Rideshare/Taxi (no parking), Public Transit (Google transit directions), and Drop-off (driving, no parking).
The time you want at the gate before boarding. Default is 30 minutes. Adjustable from 15-120 minutes in Settings. We recommend at least 30 minutes for domestic and 60 minutes for international.
Yes! Toggle "Checking bags?" to add bag drop time (20 min standard, 15 min for airlines with kiosks, 25 min for international).
If you're flying from Puerto Rico (SJU), Hawaii, Guam, or US Virgin Islands to the mainland, there's a mandatory USDA agricultural inspection. We automatically add 15-40 minutes depending on the airport.
Flights from airports with US CBP pre-clearance (Toronto YYZ, Dublin DUB, Abu Dhabi AUH, etc.) include an extra 30-60 minutes for pre-clearance processing.
Times are estimates based on historical and real-time data. Actual conditions vary. Construction, special events, weather changes, and airline-specific procedures can affect your experience. Always allow extra time for important flights.

Technical Issues
Try refreshing the page (Ctrl+R / Cmd+R). Make sure you have a stable internet connection. If the issue persists, try clearing your browser cache or using a different browser. Airport data loads progressively — give it a few seconds.
TSA wait time data is only available for US airports with TSA checkpoints. International airports show as green dots without TSA data. Smaller US airports may also lack TSA data.
We search multiple data sources (FlightAware, AeroDataBox, AviationStack, OpenSky). Some flights, especially regional or charter flights, may not be in our databases. Make sure you're using the correct flight number format (e.g., UA100, DL456, AA1234).
