Privacy Policy

Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly: email address and password when you create an account. We also collect usage data including airport queries, trip plans, tracked flights, and push notification preferences.
Approximate device location is used (with your permission) to show nearby airports and pre-fill the trip planner. We do not track your movements — location is read on demand and never stored on our servers.
Payment information is processed entirely by Apple In-App Purchases and Stripe. We never see or store your credit card details.
How We Use Your Information
- Provide and improve FlyOnTime services
- Send push notifications about delays, gate changes, and ground stops (when enabled)
- Process subscription payments (via Apple / Stripe)
- Analyze aggregate usage patterns to improve the service
- Respond to support inquiries
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:
- Apple / Stripe — for payment processing
- DigitalOcean — our hosting provider
- Google Maps, FlightAware, AeroDataBox, AviationStack, OpenSky, Open-Meteo, TSA — for the flight, traffic, and weather data we display (we send airport codes and flight numbers, not your personal information)
Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time, which permanently removes all associated data within 48 hours.
Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)
- Access: Request a copy of your data via [email protected]
- Correction: Update your data through Settings in the app
- Deletion: Delete your account in-app or via email
- Portability: Receive your data in JSON format
- Opt-out: We do not sell data, so there's nothing to opt out of
Security
We use industry-standard security: TLS encryption in transit, password hashing with bcrypt, JWT-based authentication, and isolated database access. We do not store payment details on our servers.
Children's Privacy
FlyOnTime is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. Significant changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice at least 30 days before taking effect.
